I Galletti (The Cockerels)

Founded: 1908, Stadium: Stadio San Nicola, Capacity: 58,270

Bari was originally founded in 1908 and refounded several times, most recently in 2018. The club spent many seasons bouncing between the top two divisions in Italian Football, Serie A and Serie B. Out of all Southern Italian clubs Bari have made the third most appearances in the top flight. The club was formerly known as A.S. Bari or F.C. Bari 1908 as well as other names, due to re-foundations. Main rivals of SSC Bari are SSC Napoli, Calcio Foggia, Taranto FC and US Lecce. Bari usually plays in all-white with red detailing. The colours next to the beloved cockerel are the main features in their crests. The cockerel (i Galletti , the clubs nickname) is a very unique logo which is instantly recognizable. During the years the cockerel also disappeared from the crest and was replaced by a circular shape which represented the Halo of San Nicola, intertwined with the colors of the city, white and red (i Biancorossi, another nickname of the team).
