De Graafschap was formeel in 1954 and play their home games at De Vijverberg stadium. The stadium was opened in 2000 and stands on the site of the club’s old pitch. The club name is Dutch for “The County”. De Graafschap has fierce rivalry with Vitesse Arnhem, but during the years due to several circumstances Go Ahead Eagles began to be a rival as well.
