RKC Waalwijk was founded in 1940. Its name derived from “Rooms Katholieke Combinatie” (“Roman Catholic Combination” in Dutch) and was established as a merger of HEC, WVN and Hercules. The club became champion of the second tier in the Netherlands in 1988 and 2011. The main rival of RKC Waalwijk is Willem II Tilburg.
