Sparta Rotterdam was founded in 1888 and is the oldest professional club in the country, they took their colors from the English club Sunderland. By the 1960s they had won the league title six times, and they had never been relegated up until 2002. Their stadium, nicknamed “The Castle” has two red-brick towers as part of its facade. Biggest rivals of Sparta are SBV Excelsior and Feyenoord Rotterdam.
